1 Large Oniion (or as many as you want)
Butter
Garlic Minced
Bacon (enough to wrap the onion in)
Charcoal Grill (or oven)
Foil

Peel onion, wash, and cut top off (save top). Dig a hole in the onion, pack with Butter and Garlic, put top that you saved back on. Wrap the whole onion till covered. Put foil around onion and place on or near coals and let bake till soft and tender. Enjoy, you will if you like onions.

You are going to burn the bacon a little, but the onion should be tender to the touch.

I love onions in foil, I cut mine up in thick slices u can also do this with peppers, squash, mushrooms, and zuchini. Make like a boat with foil leave enough room to seal top, place the sliced onion drizzle olive oil to cover onion (like a 1/4 cup) then pour 1/4 white wine, a stick of fresh rosmary or thyme, black pepper, 2 cloves of chopped garlic, and seasoning salt (Adobo the best). Seal top, wrap whole thing 1 more time to protect breakage, if its charcol grill or putting directly on the rack, wrap 1 more time for protection(10 mins flip once) gas grille leave on top rack while u grill.
